Thermal Tides in the Martian Atmosphere Near Northern Summer Solstice Observed by ACS/TIRVIM Onboard TGO

Thermal tides in the Martian atmosphere are analyzed using temperature profiles retrieved from nadir observations obtained by TIRVIM Fourier-spectrometer, part of Atmospheric Chemistry Suite onboard ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter. The data is selected near northern summer solstice at solar longitude (LS) 75°–105° Year 35. have a full local time coverage, which enables analyses daily anomalies. observed zonal mean lower 4–6 K ?100 Pa, but higher toward pole, compared to Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique (LMD) Mars General Circulation Model (GCM). Wave mode decomposition shows dominant diurnal tide and important semi-diurnal Kelvin wave, with maximal amplitudes 5, 3, 2.5 K, respectively, tens hundreds Pa. results generally agree well LMD GCM, noticeable earlier phases (?1 hr) (?3 tides.
